The Suzuki motor company was founded by Michio Suzuki who had a pretty good business sense before he invested in the motorcycle industry in 1920. The company was not recognized for their high quality bikes right away, instead it took time. There has been several changes in the Suzuki motorcycle throughout the years. It is because of these valuable upgrades and new concepts that makes Suzuki one of the most trusted motorcycle manufacturers in the world.
In the summer of 1954, Suzuki began trade marking their symbol “S” and included it on all of their bikes. It is now one of the most recognizable emblems in the motor industry. The company began selling in the United States in1963 and it wasn’t until the model Mount Fuiji was released that their popularity began to soar. Since the year of 1636, Suzuki motorcycles have come a long way.
The first street legal performance bike was known as the X-6 Hustler and was released by Suzuki in 1966. At that time, it was the best and fastest 250cc bike on the market. Due to the success of this model, the company released a similar model that was a 500cc bike called the Titan. It wasn’t until 1969 that the Suzuki company took the whole market by surprise. It was then when they came out with the GT750 which was a two stroke bike that could speed up to 110 mph. In five seconds flat, this bike could go from zero to sixty. Again, due to the success of this bike, Suzuki later released a bigger version of this bike known as the RG500. According to popular belief, this quickly became the best Suzuki bike of them all.
Because their bikes were simply faster and better than all other makes, Suzuki dominated the motorcycle industry in the 1970’s. They took the World Motocross Championship in 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, and 1976. in 1982, the company made history again with a new model called the XN85. This bike was turbo charged and won a series of races in the 80’s. The first American to ever win a world championship did so with the help of an XN85 back in 1982. Suzuki released another turbo charged bike in 1986 which was called the GSX-R. This was made with an aluminum frame and became the lightest bike in its class at the time.
Suzuki has sold a lot of bikes and cruisers since their debut. The Boulevard model became highly popular in the later years and enabled the rider to completely customize the bike’s style and ability. To this day, this remains Suzuki’s best model being sold for an inexpensive $13,000 a bike. Many bikers save money with this bike and are able to afford some aftermarket suzuki motorcycle parts to completely customize the look and feel of their hot bike. The performance of a motorcycle can't get any better than this. Suzuki remains one of the leading motorcycle manufacturers in the world.
